Clinical Chemistry
An 08:00 - 20:00 service is offered at Heartlands and 08:00 - 17:30 service at Solihull from Monday - Friday and on Saturdays from 08:00 - 12:30 at Heartlands and 09:00 - 12:30 at Solihull. Beyond the normal working hours, an on call service is available through the switchboard at Heartlands.
Immunology
The Regional Immunology service is performed at Heartlands, Monday - Friday from 08:30 - 17:00.
Haematology
An 08:00 - 20:00h service is offered by Haematology and Blood Bank at Heartlands, 08:00- 17:30 at Good Hope and 08:00 - 17:00 service at Solihull from Monday - Friday and on Saturdays from 08:00 - 13.00 at Heartlands and 08.30 - 12:30 at Good Hope and Solihull. Beyond these times an on call service is available through the switchboard at Heartlands.
Histopathology/Cytopathology
A diagnostic Histopathology/Cytopathology service is provided at Heartlands and Good Hope Hospital 08:30 - 17:00 Monday to Friday. Services are also available at Heartlands hospital on Saturday from 9:00 - 12:30 (restricted Histology service for urgent cases only).
Microbiology
Microbiology and Virology services are performed by the Health Protection Agency (HPA). All investigations take place at the Heartlands site which offers an 08:00- 20:00 service Monday - Friday and Saturday from 09:00-13:00. Beyond these times an 'on call' service is available via Heartlands switchboard.
