Add on tests
The time limits for adding on the most common tests are shown below, any other tests should be referred to the Duty Clinical Scientist (Ext 43235).
Emergency Tests (Biochemistry)
An emergency service is provided for the following tests
All routine biochemistry including digoxin and osmolality (excluding cyclosporin and xanthochromia analysis)

Appointments can be made via Diabetes Centre on 0121 424 0234. A service is available at Solihull - for information contact Laboratory Reception at Solihull on 0121 424 5531 / 0121 424 5526.
Analytical and Interpretative Service (Biochemistry)
A centralised analytical service is provided for in-patients and out-patients of Heartlands and Solihull NHS Trust, Birmingham Chest Clinic, Good Hope Hospital and to general practitioners within the catchment area. Where tests are performed daily, and the technology allows, results will normally be available within 2h of being received in the laboratory.
